What to expect
Pregnancy is a deeply personal time... we all have differing journeys, stories and experiences. Perhaps you're looking to move and exercise your body, perhaps you'd like to take a break from your thoughts and relax your mind, perhaps you'd like to connect with your baby, or meet other pregnant women... Pregnancy Yoga could be just the tonic!
We can offer you beautiful pregnancy classes during this precious time, as you await the arrival of your baby. With a focus on easing you through yoga stretches in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, preparation for labour and breathing practice - these classes are designed to help you build strength, confidence and feelings of wellbeing. A truly safe space to rest, relax and meet other like-minded women.
You do not need any yoga experience, adaptations are offered for all poses to ensure you feel safe and comfortable. Pregnancy classes are suitable for beginning students and experienced practitioners.
Why Pregnancy Yoga?
Unlike other forms of exercise, yoga is non- competitive, offering a truly personal practice whatever your ability in a warm and respectful environment. You will be warmly welcomed into our Jasmine Yoga community regardless of your age, gender or ability.
There are far reaching physical, mental and emotional benefits to be enjoyed and gained from regular yoga practice. It particularly enhances strength, flexibility, coordination and balance. In addition to physical benefits, most yogis also experience significant improvements in mental and emotional well-being. It can help ease depression, low mood and anxiety, it can calm a busy hectic mind, and bring a sense of balance and tranquility. Pregnancy yoga is also carefully designed to strengthen & support your changing body, explore how breathwork can be used as a tool and how we can position the body to help prepare for labour.
Yoga can also have a significant impact on your self - esteem. The yoga philosophy teaches us to accept and respect ourselves and others As you notice your body gaining in strength and flexibility, and you begin to feel calmer and more balanced, you may experience much greater self -love and acceptance.
About Our Classes
Classes are 75 minutes long, including time to catch up and enjoy some refreshments as we reflect on how our bodies are doing this week. We will gently warm up, and sequences are predominantly Vinyasa in style, breath to movement, before finishing with extended relaxation time in Savasana.
Classes are booked as a 4 week block for £40, and this also includes a Jasmine Pregnancy Yoga Recording to use at home or you can do a drop in for £12.50.
Pregnancy Class - Sunday 4pm -5.15pm.
We also offer a pregnancy-friendly class which you are welcome to attend from the 2nd trimester onwards. This is Flow & Restore on a Thursday 6.30pm-7.30pm. Please mention your pregnancy in the comments box when booking this class.
Hi, I'm Steph! Thank you so much for checking out our Pregnancy Page. I am a Yoga Teacher, Prenatal, Postnatal & Baby Yoga Teacher, and Children's Yoga. Teacher. I am also mama to two vigorous boys, who keep me running around when I'm not practising yoga!
I completed my Pregnancy Training with Sally Parkes Training and I am committed to nurturing pregnant bodies during this unique time. I recognise that pregnancy journeys vary a lot... mine certainly did! But I strive to support and empower women to feel strong in mind and body, ready to embark upon this brand new adventure.
