We are a family-run yoga studio, based in the heart of Tynemouth on the Haven beach.

We offer yoga in our beautiful studio, on our rooftop terrace and on the beach.

We know that joining your first class can be intimidating... you're worried you're too stiff... or you won't know what to do.... a flurry of questions and worries in your mind. We've welcomed thousands of new yogis through our doors who just like you felt nervous at first. We really take pride in our teaching with an ethos that every body is unique and we always look to offer variations so that our yoga classes are widely accessible.... and finally most importantly to ensure everyone is made to feel welcome at Jasmine Yoga.

What We Offer

New to Yoga?

We would recommend you join Beginner's Flow on a Monday with Jo. We welcome you to our class if you are curious to begin your yoga journey and are keen to develop strength and flexibility and to progress into other yoga levels. You will learn core postures and popular sequences such as Sun Salutations, at a pace to help you learn and understand the benefits of yoga and techniques for safe alignment.
Aside from our Beginner Classes we also have a number of other classes you might enjoy where we take a slower pace and welcome peace and mindfulness.
Why not try: Flow and Restore with Steph on a Thursday or Saturday OR Gentle Flow with Steph on a Sunday OR Moving Meditation with Jo on a Tuesday or Friday.

Regular Practice?

We offer a mix of energising and relaxing practices, depending on what you're looking for. Our main style of yoga is called Vinyasa which involves placing the body in a special way and flowing each movement fluidly with the breath. Moving from pose to pose with inhalations and exhalations invites a creative approach to the sequencing and structuring of the main flow. Therefore, you will find that each of our teachers will offer you a varying yoga experience, in terms of: content, variations and pace. The pace of breath to movement in many of our classes, means that how you place your body, and which areas you pay attention to, is of the utmost importance. We refer to this as alignment. At Jasmine Yoga, we place a lot of importance on alignment, so you will be offered specific alignment cues that encourage you to gain insight into your physicality, ultimately helping you to build strength and practise yoga safely. By understanding which muscles are involved and the overarching aim of a pose, we believe that you will develop a greater awareness of your own body and how to build strength in a safe manner.

Our Studio & Beyond

Classes are held at Tynemouth Sailing Club where we have the option of a beautiful haven inside or an extensive roof terrace outside where you can enjoy the fresh sea air!
We also offer a full on-demand platform of Yoga and Mindfulness videos.
During the summer we offer beach yoga classes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have practiced yoga before?

No! We welcome anyone new to yoga, I'd recommend attending the beginner's class first, however always happy to discuss your options.

How much are classes?

£9.50 per one hour class and £11.50 for 90 minute classes, please see timetable page for your class details. We also offer class passes on the Book Now page so you can buy a bundle for a saving.

Do I need to book?

Yes please. We have limited numbers so please visit the Book Now page.

Do I need to bring a mat?

You are welcome to borrow a mat from us however if you have a mat Yes, given our advanced safety measures please bring a mat or additionally you can buy one from our shop.

Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?

No! It's a common misconception that you need to be able to touch your toes to do yoga, quite the opposite! We do yoga so we can gain flexibility, and I promise, once you start a regular practice you will feel huge benefits!

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing, leggings or shorts

Do you have changing facilities?

Yes, we have a toilet (male and female) and space to change on-site.

How do I know which style is right for me?

I'm always happy to offer advice based on your experience, current level of activity and desired outcomes. There is also information on the types of classes on the About page.

Are children allowed?

We welcome anyone over the age of 16 years old and we offer Teen Classes on a Thursday teatime.

Can I practice if I'm pregnant?

We have Pregnancy Yoga Classes on a Sunday. We alsooffer gentle classes suitable for pregnancy beyond the first trimester, adaptations will always be offered.
