Kids Yoga for Home Ed: Movement, Mindfulness & Community with Steph

A playful, welcoming yoga session for home-educated children in North Tyneside.

Hello!

Join Steph for a warm, inclusive session of yoga games, mindful movement, and simple breathwork to help children up‑regulate and down‑regulate their nervous systems. Sessions are designed for any child being educated at home, including autistic children and those with Down syndrome, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delay (GDD).

These child‑led sessions offer space to explore independently, plus time to come together as a group to play, imagine, and move through yoga stories and games.

Through playful poses, calming breathwork, and heart-centered activities, children explore how to connect with their bodies, restore their energies, and build emotional resilience.

In each session, we focus on more than just flexibility or strength. Yoga becomes a tool for growing self-awareness, nurturing confidence, and helps children to learn how to understand the signals of their bodies, cultivating a sense of peace they can carry into everyday moments.

Whether your child is new to yoga or already exploring mindful movement, our classes offer a joyful, inclusive space to grow—inside and out.

Every other week: Wednesday 1.30pm - 2.15pm

Home‑educated children of mixed ages.

• Children who benefit from a gentle, flexible, and sensory‑aware environment.

• Families seeking a supportive community in Tynemouth / North Tyneside.

Neurodiversity‑affirming: sessions are designed with flexibility in mind. Children are offered adaptations and choices throughout, with consent‑based invitations to join in. They can participate through big movements, small actions, or simply by watching and resting.

You can expect playful yoga games and imaginative movement stories.

• Mindfulness & breathwork options to settle or energise.

• Group moments to connect—with opportunities to opt in/out.

• Calm corner with cushions/props available at any time as a choice‑led station (e.g. reading, sensory baskets, mindful activities) for independent exploration.

• A resource to take away.

Children can take breaks whenever they need. Caregivers are welcome to join in, sit with your child or observe.

The yoga class will last for half an hour, with a little task to fill in together at the end, finishing with time to explore yoga props or chat.
