At Jasmine Yoga, we partner with schools to support both pupil wellbeing and staff resilience.
Our services include:
Children's yoga classes
Mindfulness and breathwork sessions
Staff wellbeing workshops
CPD training on stress and nervous system regulation
Whether you are looking to help children develop emotional regulation skills, support staff wellbeing, or provide practical classroom strategies, we can tailor sessions to your school's needs.
Physically, yoga has an array of benefits, however we embed qualities such as resilience and kindness through the classes and help our young people to deal with and regulate their emotions.
Not only does yoga provide a physical outlet, but it helps all people become more aware of themselves physically, by building strength, stamina and flexibility, and mentally, by offering a safe space in which to relax, regroup and switch off from other aspects of life.
What skills can yoga help with?
Yoga can help children and young people with so many areas, it's truly magical!
Developing concentration and processing instructions/information.
Dealing with emotions and raising self-esteem.
Awareness of the body, personal space and dexterity.
Supporting young people with additional needs.
Using yoga as a restorative tool for anxiety and exam pressures.
Developing life skills, such as communication, listening and creativity.
Building strength, fitness, balance and flexibility.
Regulating the nervous system including upregulating and downregulating
What we offer schools:
We can cater our packages to your individual needs; there's no one size fits all. We have taught yoga to an array of ages, ranging from nursery school to sixth form pupils. We've worked with Y11, Y12 and Y13 pupils who are feeling the effects of exam pressures, Reception children to explore their imaginations and creativity and Y2 pupils focusing on navigating emotions and self-regulating through yoga. We’ve also delivered yoga during a school holiday club focusing on health and wellbeing.
In addition we have worked with children’s charities (including one supports teenagers who are at risk of homelessness and are disengaged from education, a charity for children who have additional needs, including autism, epilepsy, anxiety and ADHD and a children’s cancer charity).

Staff Training (CPD)
We can create bespoke training workshops for the CPD programme in school or at our studio (size dependent). Our studio is stunning and overlooks the sea. We understand the limitations of curriculum time, so this CPD session equips teachers and those working in education with the knowledge to implement practical strategies with consistency into the classroom and beyond. These are simple, effective strategies for children, parents and schools. Teachers are already under pressure to be so many different people to the child, so this CPD is very much about providing them with manageable techniques to incorporate into the classroom to genuinely support regulation and behaviour. Yoga literally means ‘union’ and centres around viewing the mind and body as a whole, not separate entities.

Staff Wellbeing
Wellbeing Sessions including Mindfulness, Breathwork, Yoga or Soundbaths to support staff wellbeing. If the number is 20 or below, you’re welcome to come to our studio, or we can deliver wellbeing sessions in school too.
Staff Trainings can cover different aspects including:
What’s happening internally when the stress response is activated?
Breathwork techniques to support with learning – breathwork activities to calm and breathwork activities to tackle lethargy
Mindfulness tools to cultivate calm and resilience
The role of the autonomic nervous system and how to navigate the challenges in school.
Awareness of the mind & body connection, including how to cultivate presence and give the brain ‘a break’.
Yoga, breathwork and mindfulness to support children with additional needs.
Strategies to support staff wellbeing.
Why Choose Jasmine Yoga?
We understand that schools have had to adapt to the consequences of recent years and that there are yoga resources available to use online. This is great sometimes, however yoga is not just an exercise, and when delivered sensitively and thoughtfully, it can be ever so effective in supporting a range of needs and challenges as a holistic tool. We can also tailor classes to suit topics or specific areas and barriers to learning identified by your school.
We have two Children’s Yoga Teachers at Jasmine Yoga.
Meet the team
Steph
Steph worked in education for 12 years, teaching English in a large Secondary School and working with many SEND students. Pastoral support has always been very close to her heart, so she has qualifications in Counselling, Speech & Language and Mindfulness. She owns Jasmine Yoga with her mum, Jo and balances this with raising her two little boys. She has advanced yoga trainings in Yoga for Neurodiversity and how to help children with additional needs to regulate. She also works with people who have incurable conditions using yoga, breathwork and mindfulness to support them. Steph delivers wellbeing training through the area, working with schools, universities, organisations and charities.

Helen
Helen has many years of experience working with primary school-aged children, including ten years as a teacher in a local first school. Her love of yoga led her to weave mindfulness and movement into her teaching, where she saw how much it benefitted her pupils. Inspired by this, Helen trained as a Children’s Yoga teacher and loves helping young people discover the joy and calm that yoga can bring. She brings a wealth of experience of Early Years and child development.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Typically, there will be: Simple yoga poses taught through fun themes. Breathing exercises to help children calm their bodies and minds Mindfulness activities such as guided imagery or short meditations. Games and stories that make movement engaging and enjoyable. Relaxation time - sometimes known as ‘the resting pose’.
-
This depends on the children - 30 minutes , 45 mins or 1hr. You can book Jasmine Yoga for a morning or afternoon session and we can work with multiple groups of children in that time.
-
Steph and Helen are both qualified teachers and have Enhanced DBSs. When they lead the yoga classes, it can be a lovely opportunity for members of staff to join the circle and be part of the class without leading it. They can sit on a chair or a yoga mat - there is no expectation for staff to do the yoga poses (unless they want to) – but it is a good opportunity to spend time together.
-
If a TA is supporting a specific child, then they can position themselves beside the individual in the circle. TAs can have such a positive impact on the children when they model the value system of yoga.
-
In school – ideally we need a space like a hall or gym where yoga mats can be laid out in a circle.
At the studio – we can deliver yoga classes at our studio located in Tynemouth.
-
Loose fitting clothing is preferable, but anything that allows them to move around and doesn’t feel exposing (eg: jogging bottoms rather than skirts). Children typically practise yoga with bare feet, unless this is problematic for the individual. We take shoes off and leave them at the side of the room.
-
Jasmine Yoga can provide mats and blankets, however if you have these in school, do let us know. We also provide props to support breathwork and mindfulness activities.
What is the price?
